Chloe Bastajian, AMFT, APCC

ASSOCIATE MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST / ASSOCIATE PROFESSIONAL CLINICAL COUNSELOR

Hello! My name is Chloe Bastajian (she/her/hers) and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (155622) as well as an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (19733). I received my Bachelor’s degree from Southern Adventist University and my Master’s degree from Vanguard University, both in clinical psychology.

During my graduate program, I had the pleasure of working with high school students with a wide range of cultural backgrounds and identities. I gained clinical experience through individual therapy sessions as well as group therapy. I led an eight week group on mindfulness and occasionally assisted with other groups that focused on topics such as stress management, school connections, and healthy relationships. I loved working with teens and enjoyed getting to expand their psychoeducation as well explore areas that were of interest to them such as finding coping strategies that worked best for them, helping to identify their triggers and warning signs, or any other curiosities that they might have had. In addition to continuing my work with teens, I would love to work with college students and young adults as I believe these years are crucial and I understand how difficult they can be to navigate.

I am passionate about psychology and believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to try therapy. I am not partial to one specific modality as I like to integrate aspects of different modalities into my clinical work, however, I take a person-centered approach and often utilize aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Additionally, I thoroughly enjoy integrating mindful practices into my work. Some of my experiences include working with anxiety, depression, grief, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, life changes and transition periods, neurodivergent individuals, OCPD, and trauma.

My ultimate goal is to provide a positive therapeutic experience by creating a safe space that allows for self-exploration and fosters personal growth. I look forward to collaborating with teens and young adults and am honored to be a part of their individual journeys.

Morgan Pinedo, APCC

Associate Professional Clinical Counselor & PPS

Hello! My name is Morgan Pinedo, and I’m an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (10152), with a Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential. As a dedicated clinician, I practice from a humanistic, client-centered framework, focusing on creating unique and individualized solutions for each person I work with. My approach is grounded in understanding and addressing the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—to support lasting and meaningful change. For younger children aged 3 to 12 years, I utilize a child-centered, non-directive play-based approach. This method enables children to express themselves and explore their feelings in the most natural and comfortable way—through play.

I started my professional journey after earning my Master’s Degree in Counseling from Chapman University, where I also obtained my Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential. Since 2021, I have worked as an associate in a community practice and as a mental health counselor in several school districts in South Orange County. While my primary focus is not school-based therapy, I greatly enjoy working with our youngest generation. With a passion for creative arts and hands-on work, I like to incorporate creative elements into my sessions to help both children and adults foster deep personal growth and transformation. I have experience treating mood disorders, ADHD, anxiety, depression, low motivation, life changes and transitions, and students with 504/IEP plans. I take pride in working collaboratively with families and parents to provide resources and psychoeducation to support each client’s unique needs.

Tameka Gibbs, APCC

Associate Professional Clinical Counselor

Hello! My name is Tameka Gibbs and I’m an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (15183) in the state of California. I have two Bachelor’s Degrees in Elementary Education and Psychology from the University of St. Thomas (UST). I earned my Masters Degree in Counseling and Psychological Services at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota (SMUMN). I have a vast amount of experience working with children and families. As a former Elementary school teacher, I have witnessed how mental health impacts children academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. I desire to expand my clinical counseling by also working with adults, empowering others to thrive and combat challenges that greatly impact their well-being.

My previous experiences inspired me to help individuals develop a positive self-identity and cultivate positive relationships to promote growth and healing. I strive to create opportunities to build meaningful relationships that instill a sense of belonging. Overall, I aim to create an environment in which people feel safe, valued, and free to be themselves. I strongly believe that therapy shouldn’t be a one-size-fits-all approach; therefore, I utilize a strengths-based model with a person-centered approach.

Using these modalities, clients create personalized goals that are most meaningful and relevant to them. Furthermore, I work collaboratively with clients to move toward effective and lasting change. My passion as a mental health professional is deeply rooted in my racial identity and life experiences. My cultural competence derives from working with diverse populations using a lens of trauma-informed care. I am committed to providing culturally relevant practices throughout therapy sessions by embracing the strengths within every individual.

Richard Chong, AMFT

Associate marriage and family therapist

Greetings. My name is Richard Chong, and I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT153574). I graduated with a Master’s in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. As a counselor, I approach my work through a client-centered and humanistic lens, collaborating with clients on their journey of self-discovery, healing, and growth. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all, so collaborating and tailoring therapy to my client’s preferences is part of the journey.

Sometimes, the narrative and noise that life gives us can take over and become the driver of behaviors and thoughts. Understanding the complexity and impact one’s range of identities can have on one’s life can be a step towards retaking the narrative and empowering one’s story. Therapy can be a way to regain a sense of self, so you can be the driver of your path and story.

Some of the tools and experiences I can bring to the therapeutic relationship include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness, Parts work, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), grounding exercise, and somatic works. Some of my experiences include working with ADHD, anxiety, grief, depression, and trauma. My goal is to provide a positive therapeutic experience so clients may be informed and empowered in the direction of their journey.

Christina Rodriguez, APCC

ASSOCIATE PROFESSIONAL CLINICAL COUNSELOR
Hello! My name is Christina Rodriguez (she/her/hers). I am an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC 18588) registered in California. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Counseling from Loyola Marymount University, where I was drawn to the program’s strong emphasis on social justice and equity—values that deeply resonate with me. I’ve had the privilege of working with children, adults, and families from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences.

My clinical work is rooted in a trauma-informed, client-centered, and strengths-based approach. I have experience supporting children and adults navigating trauma, domestic violence, anxiety, and depression. I’m certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and I integrate evidence-based practices like CBT, and mindfulness into my work. As a certified yoga teacher, I also integrate mind-body techniques to support emotional regulation and healing. When working with children, I incorporate creative and engaging tools like play therapy, art, and bibliotherapy to explore emotions and build coping skills. As a parent myself, I’m familiar with the joys and challenges of parenting so my approach working with caregivers is rooted in empathy and compassion. I’m passionate about empowering parents with the information and skills they need to help their children thrive.

Before joining Hygieia, I led trauma-informed training and coaching initiatives for early childhood educators, K-12 teachers, and youth-serving professionals across the country. In these roles, I supported adults in integrating trauma-informed principles into their presence and practices, creating healthy environments where children and families feel safe and can truly thrive.

Whether I’m working with children, adults, or families, my goal is always to foster a sense of felt-safety, connection, trust, empowerment, and resilience. I’d be honored to walk alongside you and support you as you move toward your vision of healing, growth, and wellness.
